Speaking: Sparkly Bits! Time to show off!

Here are some final tips that really add sparkle to your conversation!

Get Those Tenses In!

Here is a very ordinary question:
"Wie kommst du zur Schule?"
(How do you get to school?)

Now, make it work for you. Look!

Model answer:"Normalerweise komme ich zu Fuss zur Schule aber heute morgen bin ich mit dem Bus gefahren, weil es geregnet hat. Morgen werde ich vielleicht mit dem Rad fahren."
(Normally I walk to school but this morning I went on the bus because it was raining. I might to school on my bike tomorrow.)

This model answer contains present, past and future tenses and a weil clause too. You can adapt this to answer a whole range of questions. Here's another one:

Holidays question: "Wohin fährst du in den Sommerferien?"
(Where are you going to in the summer holidays?)

Model answer: "Normalerweise fahre ich mit meinen Eltern nach Devon aber letzten Sommer sind wir nach Spanien gefahren. Wir sind jeden Tag geschwommen und das Wetter war einfach super! Nächsten Sommer möchte ich mit meinen Freunden nach Frankreich fahren."
Normally, I go with my parents to Devon but last summer, we went to Spain. We swam every day. The weather was just great. Next summer, I would like to go to France with my friends.
