Background Radiation

Every day of our lives we are exposed to radiation that is all around us. Most of the time this is completely harmless.

So called background radiation comes from many sources:

rocks in the ground
bricks in buildings
nuclear waste from power stations and bomb tests
hospitals
even outer space!
