Velocity

Speed and velocity are often mixed up when they should not be. Just as distance has no given direction, neither does speed. Velocity, on the other hand, requires a direction to be given - just like displacement.

Velocity is speed in a given direction.

e.g. a man walks at 3 miles per hour, north.
