Images in Writing

When learning to read, we all enjoyed reading books with pictures. The pictures helped you engage with the story. They helped you use your imagination.

Novels for adults don't contain pictures, but they do use images. But these images are formed by words that don't describe something exactly. They provide richness to what you are reading.

e.g. "The night sky above Cath's head sparkled like diamonds".
