Motor Effect - force

Applying Fleming's Left Hand Rule to the last example, you should have concluded that the force is away from us:

force acting on a brass bar with a current to the right, between a vertical magnetic field

If you didn't, maybe you used your right hand, or got the directions muddled up. If so, try again. Otherwise let's look at a real motor.
